Hyperemesis Gravidarum is a medical condition affecting up to 50,000 pregnant women annually. The nausea and vomiting cannot be cured and leads to a loss of 5 percent of body weight or more. Ashli had lost 14 percent of her body weight when she chose abortion in desperation after 15 weeks of debilitating illness. Despite clear medical justification, the abortion left her with grief she feels she may never overcome.
